Welcome to Sacramento Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. My name is Sanh Nguyen, and I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 12 years of experience. I am trained in Osteopathic medicine and have a holistic and integrative approach to psychiatry practice. I believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. Treatment modalities include medication management and psychotherapy, short-term and long-term. My goal is to help my patients achieve their best mental health by considering all aspects of their well-being, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.I have significant experience working with patients who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, depression, anxiety as well as bipolar disorders and psychotic disorders. My approach to psychiatry is collaborative and patient centered. As a psychiatrist, my areas of professional interest revolve around helping patients who have experienced childhood and adulthood trauma, as well as those who struggle with substance use disorders. Specifically, I have expertise in treating individuals with alcohol use disorder, benzodiazepine use disorder, opioid use disorder, and tobacco use disorder.
In my practice, I utilize a combination of psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy to provide comprehensive care to my patients. My goal is to help individuals overcome their struggles and improve their overall mental health and well-being, using evidence-based and personalized approaches. I am passionate about empowering my patients to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
